The Entrance - Rock Groyne

GPM Constructions has completed construction of a short rock groyne at South Entrance Beach to increase the length of time that sand is retained on the beach. Over recent years, the beach has required regular nourishment to maintain recreational amenity and protection from coastal hazards. It is hoped that the groyne will be effective in protecting the beach during traditional Christmas King tides, and possible East Coast lows.

The constructed rock groyne is approximately 100 metres long, perpendicular to the existing coastline and located to the south of the re-positioned Surf Life Saving Club tower. The groyne is constructed from hard rock suitable for placement within the marine environment and similar in nature to the adjacent rock platform. The project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget.

Booker Bay MArina - Refurbishment

The much needed upgrades to Booker Bay Marina, Central Coast NSW have been completed with the demolition of existing timber jetty and piles.
New steel piles have been installed with the addition of a new floating pontoon system.

Box Head - Dredge

The dredging around Box Head, Central Coast NSW has been successfully completed. The sand dredge has widened and increased navigational depth for access by larger vessels.

Bemm River - Boatramp Upgrade

Bemm River Boatramp has received an upgrade to assist with access for longer vessels with the addition of two pre-cast concrete panels.


Ettalong Wharf - Repairs

GPM has completed repair work to Ettalong Wharf after a recent collision from local ferry service


GPM has completed the reconstruction of the retaining walls at Chiswick Gardens Woollahra.



The Reconstruction of the Historical Blackburn Gardens Pedestrian ramp in Woollahra.

Completed in just under 4 weeks, and 3 days before the assigned date of Practical completion.


Luderick Point, Bemm River - Boat Ramp & Infrastructure Upgrade

Since April 2014, and as an outcome of the Bemm River Foreshore Management Plan, replacement of  the Luderick Point Boat Ramp and upgrade of the jetty facilities were identified as a high priority. After substantial consultation and design with community, GPM Constructions was given the opportunity to deliver the project.

Throughout a period of 6 weeks, GPM completed the construction of the new dual lane boat ramp and new southern pontoon system, with upgrades to existing northern pontoon and abutment. The upgrade included new overhead lighting, provided for safe usage of the facilities at night. Additionally, a davit crane was installed to enable disabled access from the pontoon. Value was created through the seamless integration of the existing L-shaped pontoon system into the new facility.


Armory Wharf Café Seawall Re-stabilisation-  Olympic Park

GPM stockpiled the existing Rock armour in front of the sea wall creating a cofferdam like detail to prevent further erosion from boat wave action. While the coffer dam was in place, GPM removed the failing substrate material from behind the existing seawall and replaced it with a combination of layers of basalt, crushed sandstone and DGB20 all wrapped in Geofabric. The existing rock Armour was then replaced with additional 400mm dia basalt, to ensure no further erosion would occur.  The Construction program was 8 weeks.


Coffs Harbour Moorings &  Unloading Wharf UPGRADES

GPM has completed mooring upgrades to the commercial berthing facilities at Coffs Harbour Marina.

Refurbishment of the inner-harbour break wall has been completed, including the regrade and reforming of batters with the supply and install of new primary and secondary rock armour.

Coffs Harbour Marina Breakwall Rectification Works

GPM Constructions has completed refacing Coffs Harbour Marina South West Break wall, including repairs and stabilisation of break wall access road.

Ettalong Wharf Upgrade

As part of Central Coast Council’s 2016/17 Capital Works Program, GPM Constructions has completed works to upgrade the pontoon facility at Ferry Road, Ettalong Beach. This was carried out following determination by Central Coast Council and Roads and Maritime Services that the maritime infrastructure in the area required upgrading for existing and future maritime traffic use.

The works included removal of the existing wharf head and replacement with a 10m x 6m floating pontoon with DDA compliant gangway. The pontoon system has been designed to greatly improve accessibility for all users, including both passenger ferry and recreational users.

Bressington Park Sports field Redevelopment

GPM has completed preliminary works at the Bressington Park sports field redevelopment site with the import, placement and grade of 6,000 cubic metres of topsoil.

The final design includes

  • 140 space car park (for the public using Bressington Park, and to be used as an overflow car park for the adjacent Mason Park)
  • 3 playing fields (two currently located on the bottom field, and one new playing field to be constructed on the top mound)
  • A new amenities block with home and visitors change rooms, which include a kiosk and public toilets
  • Australian Korean Memorial Garden with a 200sqm pavilion, reflection pond and two shelters

Lyne Park Seawall Stage 3

A continuation of Lyne Park Seawall Reconstructions North, South and Stages 2 and 2.1 for Woollahra Council. This contract was to replace approximately 80 lm of the existing wall with new 300 x 300 x 800mm faced sandstone blocks.

To control damage to the wall during construction, GPM installed sheet piling in front of the proposed new wall which eliminated wave action.

Construction period was 4 months.

Ettalong Channel Dredge

GPM Constructions has completed dredging approx. 10,000 cubic metres of sand to widen and increase navigational depth for access by larger vessels.


Madeline Street Bioretention System

GPM Constructions has completed preparation and irrigation of a new bioretention system for Strathfield Municipal Council.
The bio-retention system involves the diversion of stormwater runoff from the existing stormwater pipe in Madeline St/Cleveland St that traverse the site. The pipe flows are to be intercepted and directed into the bioretention system via a Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT).

Lower Portland Ferry, Piling

Since early 2016, the Lower Portland Ferry upgrade has been of high priority with concerns that the Ferry could be severely damaged during a major flood event. On behalf of Hawkesbury City Council and in conjunction with Hills Shire Council, GPM Constructions delivered the upgrade to the Ferry Berth, allowing for the Lower Portland Ferry to be moored safely in high flood conditions.

Works were completed without interruption of the ferry operation, and included installation of four (4) new piles with mooring float tie-off points, as well as a new heavy duty concrete mooring block.

Rosebay Beach Dredge

The dredging and selective beach replenishment of Rosebay Dog Beach, consisting of 5,000 cubic meters of sand, has been completed with GPM working closely with Council and the community to return the beach to a safer and more functional area.


Lyne Park Rosebay Sheet Piling

GPM has completed progressive sheet piling across approx. 300m of the face of the Lyne Park Seawall Rosebay. The driven sheet piling achieved a temporary cofferdam for stonemasons to access the tidal section of the seawall normally inaccessible due to tidal activity.


Marine Rescue Middle Harbour

GPM has completed demolition of existing timber gangway/associated piles, and the installation of 28 meters of new aluminium gangway supported by steel sleeved piles. Due to the location, all site access, deliveries and works were performed from one of GPM's barges.


Blackwattle Bay Borehole Drilling

GPM recently undertook borehole drilling in Blackwattle Bay, Sydney Harbour. Providing barge and crew services for borehole drilling rig, and Engineers taking approx. 15 bore hole samples at depths up to 20m.

Dumaresq Reserve Seawall Repair

This seawall failed during the June 2016 Storm, and required emergency repair to avoid further failure and erosion. GPM were able to commence work immediately from appointment and complete the remediation/renewal of the wall within 4 weeks.

Lower Portland

Due to erosion of the riverbank and undermining of existing structures, GPM are constructing a new rock wall approx. 100m long using rocks up to 5 tonne each. Works include installation of a single lane precast boat ramp usable at all extreme tides.
